Reef Relief Programs Impact Coral Reefs & Coastal Environments

Surfing’s Evolution & Preservation Foundation partners are making meaningful strides to protect coastal environments—Reef Relief is just one of them. For nearly 40 years, Reef Relief has worked to protect coral reefs through education, advocacy, conservation, and community action across the Florida Keys and beyond. We’re proud to support their mission to safeguard these irreplaceable ecosystems by funding reef education programs.

In 2025, Reef Relief achieved notable progress: Their Discover Coral Reefs School Program reached more than 15,000 students across 49 states, 7 territories and 18 countries. New initiatives like the Currents & Creatures Program for local Title 1 students demonstrated measurable learning gains, while their popular Coral Camp for Kids program welcomed 278 campers, earning its ninth consecutive “Best Summer Camp” award.

Conservation efforts in 2025 also surged, with 123,491 pounds of trash removed from local waterways and 1,037 storm drains stenciled to prevent ocean pollution. Reef Relief continues to engage the community, with dozens of businesses participating in Plastic Free Key West, ocean friendly sunscreen initiatives, and straw-reduction pledges which builds a strong, scalable model for environmental stewardship.

We congratulate them on their progress. We’re proud to support their mission to safeguard these irreplaceable ecosystems by funding reef education programs.
