  • International Coastal Cleanup 2017
    The International Coastal Cleanup is an annual, worldwide event, established by the Ocean Conservancy, an organization that works to protect our oceans from the challenges they face each and every day. The International Coastal Cleanup Day encourages us to get out to our beaches and waterways and clean up the garbage that has washed up on shore and has been left by visitors every day. Trash in the water impacts the world on so many levels, including harming our wildlife, as well as humans. This annual event encourages people to get out there and take care of their beaches which, in turn, can have an impact in how they live their daily lives; helping them to be more conscientious about how their lifestyle choices affect the oceans.     Surfing’s Evolution & Preservation Foundation is pleased to, once again, partner with the Marine Discovery Center. The Marine Discover Center Children’s Scholarship Program provides hands-on, feet-wet summer camps and school field trips for disadvantaged youth, promoting the importance of clean beaches, as well as the ecological significance of the Indian River Lagoon. Our grant will ensure that this scholarship fund can provide kids with the opportunity to attend camps and trips they may not have been able to attend otherwise.   • Coastal Steward Florida Beach Cleanup
    Surfing’s Evolution & Preservation Foundation sponsored a beach cleanup with Coastal Steward Florida at John U. Lloyd Beach State Park, located in Dania Beach, on April 9, 2016.
