Special Olympics State Surfing Championship
Surfing’s Evolution & Preservation Foundation is committed to supporting the Special Olympics Florida surfing program. The Special Olympics State Surfing Championship will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Alan Shepard Park in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Special Olympics is a global movement of people creating a new world of inclusion and community, where every single person is accepted and welcomed, regardless of ability or disability. They are helping to make the world a better, healthier and more joyful place.
If you, or someone you know, would like to participate in Special Olympics as a volunteer, a coach, or an athlete, please check out www.specialolympicsflorida.org to find your local program. For athletes, their programs open a gateway to achieve empowerment and acceptance. For the coaches and volunteers, there is nothing more inspiring and rewarding than the joy seen on the faces of the athletes.

Surfing’s Evolution & Preservation Foundation is proud to be a sponsor of the Washed Ashore exhibit at the Brevard Zoo. This spectacular project features art installations made exclusively from marine debris that will open your eyes and leave you with a lasting impression. Visit this beautiful art exhibit that will educate the community about what happens to debris that doesn’t get recycled or that doesn’t make it to the landfills. You’ll learn about ocean stewardship, responsible consumer habits and how every action counts to help save our seas. For more information, check out www.washedashore.org.
The Keep Brevard Beautiful Pick it Up – Pack it Out campaign seeks to better educate beach guests about litter control and recycling. Beachgoers can show their respect for the beach by not leaving anything behind.
Can you believe the amount of litter cleaned up on Brevard beaches averages 44 tons per month? It is getting tough to keep up with this growing problem. It’s time to show our love for the beach by being responsible and keeping it clean for everyone to enjoy and for the health of our marine life.
